As we reflect on National Inclusion Week, it's a great time to announce our exciting new partnership with the Manchester-based Digital Skills Training Charity Digital Advantage.

At Nexer, we’re committed to creating a more equitable and diverse tech landscape, including within our own teams.

Last week was National Inclusion Week, dedicated to celebrating inclusion and taking action to create inclusive workplaces. As such, we’re thrilled to announce our new partnership with Digital Advantage, the Manchester-based Digital Skills Training Charity. Digital Advantage offers opportunities to help young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) move towards working in the creative and digital economy.

Through our partnership, we’ll offer work placements and contribute to the delivery of a sessions on web accessibility and usability testing at DISC, their ground breaking Digital Independent Specialist College, all intended to help their students gain practical experience and prepare for future careers in the digital industry. We will also look at project briefs that can be delivered by their digital agency SENDCode team.

This initiative is part of our broader strategy to invest in more equitable recruitment initiatives, bootcamps, placements, and apprenticeships with organisations like Love Circular, Diverse & Equal, and Manchester Digital. As a Disability Confident Employer, this also ties in with the work we’ve been doing internally through our Access at Nexer Employee Resource Group (ERG) to create a more accessible and inclusive workplace. We’re looking forward to continuing this work with DISC.

We are incredibly excited to partner with Nexer in this innovative collaboration. At Digital Advantage, our mission is to empower young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to pursue meaningful careers in the digital and creative industries. By working with Nexer, our interns will gain invaluable hands-on experience and insight into the tech industry. This partnership will help us bridge the gap between education and employment, ensuring that our interns are well-prepared to thrive in an inclusive digital workforce.
